Fitts Ranked in Chambers Global 2020
Two Schiff Hardin partners have been recognized in the Chambers Global 2020 guide, which recognizes top lawyers and law firms in more than 190 countries worldwide. Sarah A.W. Fitts earned her sixth consecutive ranking, and Marguerite C. Bateman was honored for the first time.
Two Schiff Hardin partners have been recognized in the Chambers Global 2020 guide, which recognizes top lawyers and law firms in more than 190 countries worldwide. Sarah A.W. Fitts earned her sixth consecutive ranking, and Marguerite C. Bateman was honored for the first time.
Fitts earned a Band 3 ranking in Energy: Electricity (Transactional) – USA, highlighting her “capabilities in electricity sector transactions.”
Fitts represents U.S. and global clients, including power developers, investors, sovereign wealth funds, and private equity across a broad range of industries. She often acts as outside general counsel for clients without legal departments, in addition to advising on transactions.
Bateman, who leads the firm’s Financial Markets and Products Practice Group, earned a Band 4 ranking in Investment Funds: Registered Funds – USA, recognized “for her work advising the independent trustees of various registered funds, including exchange-traded funds.”
Bateman’s practice focuses on issues arising under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. She serves as a trusted counselor to investment company boards of directors and trustees, and registered and unregistered investment advisory organizations.
