Former Congressman Phil English Discusses Potential for President Trump’s Tax Plan

The article laid out the five most critical areas of focus in President Trump’s tax reform announcement: tax rate deductions, border adjustments, the elimination of the interest deduction, and the return of corporate money to the US.
President Trump has proposed cutting the tax rate on all businesses to 15 percent, which would add $3.2 trillion to the budget deficit over ten years, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center. As part of the deficit analysis, Mr. English noted that, “Not proposing to offset that type of price tag could serve as an opening to negotiations.”
