Domain Name Disputes

ArentFox Schiff is a domain name enforcement pioneer. We were one of the first firms to handle a UDRP proceeding and we are at the forefront of new Generic top-level domains (gTLD) enforcement.

We have handled more than 450 domain name enforcement proceedings in venues around the world, including the World Intellectual Property Organization, the National Arbitration Forum, and federal and state courts. We recently became one of the few firms to have successfully prosecuted a gTLD “Legal Rights Objection” with WIPO.

Our domain name services feature close collaboration with clients to identify areas of concern. We provide regular monitoring and enforcement reports, and develop creative solutions to infringements. We have used creative litigation strategies including “in rem” and “John Doe” lawsuits to unmask cybersquatters and obtain relief for our clients. While we handle the majority of domain name disputes in-house, the firm’s capabilities are global. ArentFox Schiff maintains a large network of foreign counsel to assist our clients on the ground around the world. Many of our foreign attorneys provide significant discounts for our clients due to the large volume of work we send for other IP matters.

ArentFox Schiff also has a leading practice advising on all aspects related to social networking and user-generated content.
