Schiff Hardin Achieves Mansfield Certification Plus for Third Consecutive Year

For the third consecutive year, Schiff Hardin LLP has achieved Mansfield Certified Plus status in 2021, reinforcing the firm’s commitment to increasing diversity within the leadership ranks.

To achieve Certified Plus status, Schiff had to consider at least 30 percent women, LGBTQ+, lawyers of color, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership positions, senior-level recruiting, and participation in formal client pitch meetings over the past year. The status requirements also included having at least 30 percent women and minorities in multiple key leadership roles and lateral hiring. Schiff achieved Mansfield Certified Plus status in 2019 and 2020.

“We are humbled to be recognized with Mansfield Certified Plus status for the third year in a row,” said Chief Talent Officer Jill Attkisson. “While there is much more work to be done, Schiff Hardin remains fully committed to a workplace that embraces equity and inclusion for years to come.”

Schiff will be participating in the Mansfield Rule 5.0 program, which added new requirements for achieving certification.

Named for Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule was conceived through the Diversity Lab’s 2016 Women in Law Hackathon. This national competition brought in-house and private practice lawyers together to brainstorm solutions to law firm diversity challenges.
