Partner Scott Peeler Named Carolina Law Adjunct Professor

Government Enforcement & White Collar Practice Group Leader M. Scott Peeler was recently named an adjunct professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law.

M. Scott Peeler is teaching an advanced seminar on white collar law for 2L and 3L students during the 2020 spring semester. He is stepping in for longtime professor Richard Myers II who taught at Carolina Law since 2004 and was recently appointed by President Trump to serve as U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

“We are always thrilled to engage our alumni as adjunct professors and have them back on campus,” says Martin H. Brinkley, Dean and Arch T. Allen Distinguished Professor of Law. “Scott is a great friend of our institution, an exemplary alumnus, and we are grateful for his help in promoting the advancement and education of our students.”

Peeler is a double-graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction from the University in 1993 and his Juris Doctor from Carolina Law in 1997. Peeler also met his wife at the law school, and together they endow and manage several scholarships and endowments benefiting undergraduate and law students at the University.

In true Tar Heel spirit and devotion to his alma mater, Peeler flies to Chapel Hill every week to teach the next generation of lawyers passing through the halls of Van Hecke-Wettach. “I jumped at the chance to teach at Carolina Law,” Peeler said. “It’s a dream come true, and the talent, dedication, and brilliance of the students there are among the very best.”
