New Partner Douglas Grimm Adds to Health Care Practice Regulatory Clout
Washington, DC — Arent Fox is pleased to welcome partner Douglas A. Grimm, a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, to its national Health Care practice.
Mr. Grimm joins the Washington, DC office from Stradley Ronon where he was chair of the firm’s health care practice. Mr. Grimm focuses on the general representation of health care systems, with an emphasis on regulatory counseling.

He brings years of experience in regulatory work at a time when the legal demands on the health care industry are more nuanced and under greater scrutiny than ever,” said Health Care leader Lowell C. Brown. “We are especially pleased about Douglas’ prior career as a health care executive. That gives him a deep understanding of the industry and of the new age of health information, which will be invaluable to health care providers and payors.”
Mr. Grimm advises a number of health care providers and routinely counsels on compliance planning, government investigations, health information technology, peer review/medical staff, development of new service lines, licensure and provider enrollment, and insurance issues for health care system. Prior to entering law practice, he was the chief operating officer for multiple acute-care hospitals throughout the United States.
Mr. Grimm earned his master of laws (LL.M.) in health law from the George Washington University Law School, his law degree from the South Texas College of Law, and a master’s degree in health care administration from the Medical College of Virginia. He is a frequent author and lecturer on current trends in fraud and abuse enforcement, HIPAA compliance, and health information technology.
