Jeffrey R. Makin Named “Top 40 Under 40” Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal
LOS ANGELES – Jeffrey R. Makin, partner in Arent Fox LLP’s Complex Litigation practice in Los Angeles, has been honored by the Daily Journal as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” lawyers in California.
Mr. Makin was recognized for his extraordinary work on behalf of clients such as Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, China Fisheries North America Inc., and Thor Trucks, Inc. His international work was also highlighted — including working to get clients removed from OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons list, and international arbitration and dispute resolution matters involving foreign sovereigns and others.
“Jeff Makin has always had the respect, trust, and confidence of our partners and clients, so it is no surprise to us that the Daily Journal recognized him among the top lawyers in California under the age of 40,” said Aaron H. Jacoby, Los Angeles Managing Partner. “The diversity of his practice demonstrates his capabilities to guide clients in a variety of industries around the globe.”
Mr. Makin graduated with a JD from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and received his BA in political science from Brigham Young University. Prior to joining Arent Fox, Mr. Makin served as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael W. Mosman in the United States District Court for the District of Oregon.
