Cristina Carvalho Receives Washington Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award

Honorees are selected based on success in their field, commitment to community service, and strong leadership skills.
The WBJ reported Ms. Carvalho is “a preeminent attorney in the food and beverage industry” who “forged a path from an entry-level law clerk in Brazil’s patent and trademark agency to becoming one of Big Law’s first Latina managing partners in the US.”
Ms. Carvalho is a go-to attorney in the US for major Latin American corporations, in addition to counseling and managing the intellectual property portfolios of top global brands. Throughout her career, she has used her knowledge and experience in the United States and Brazil to counsel clients on strategies for navigating different legal systems and cultures to realize opportunities in both mature and emerging markets. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
