ArentFox Schiff Called Transformative Merger of 2022 by National Law Journal
ArentFox Schiff was featured as the transformative merger of 2022 by the National Law Journal in its news coverage of the country’s 500 largest law firms.
The NLJ story about the most noteworthy firms and moves among the NLJ 500 is here.
Chairman Anthony V. Lupo said that both firms had been looking for merger opportunities and found synergy with each other.
“What was fascinating was we had very little overlap,” he said, describing how Arent Fox’s consumer products team was focused on intellectual property, while Schiff Hardin’s consumer products practice focused on recalls and safety.
“We had one area in the whole firm where we competed for the same clients—everything else was filling out each other’s industry holes.”
ArentFox Schiff was formed in March 2022 from the merger between Arent Fox and Schiff Hardin. At the time, the firm’s leaders discussed how the combination came together and the successful execution of the merger. In marking ArentFox Schiff’s one-year anniversary earlier this year, Tony spoke with Bloomberg Law about the firm’s expanded platform that enhances work and services to clients.
