ArentFox Schiff Advises BMG on Acquisition of Harry Nilsson Songbook
ArentFox Schiff represented BMG, the Berlin-based international music publishing company and record label, in its acquisition of rights to the critically acclaimed songbook of Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, Harry Nilsson.
The deal includes Nilsson’s publishing catalog, as well as artist and songwriter revenue streams generated by various chart-topping hits, including “Without You,” “Everybody’s Talkin,’’ “One,” “Coconut,” “Jump Into The Fire,” and “Gotta Get Up.”
Partner Matt Finkelstein led a cross-practice deal team involving, among other areas, Media & Entertainment and Private Clients, Trusts & Estates, with Raida “Maggie” Lopez leading the efforts in the area of Private Clients, Trusts & Estates.
