Arent Fox Expands Corporate & Securities Practice With Addition of Partner Tal Unrad
Arent Fox is pleased to announce the expansion of its Corporate & Securities practice with the addition of Partner Tal M. Unrad in Boston.
Tal brings years of experience guiding clients through sophisticated corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, start-up structurings and financings, commercial transactions, and distressed transactions. Extending across various industries, such as senior living, manufacturing, software, technology, and health-tech, Tal represents domestic and foreign buyers and sellers in middle-market asset and stock purchase transactions; venture capital and private equity firms in their capacity as acquirers and sellers of businesses; entrepreneurs and emerging companies as they establish their initial business presence and obtain early-round and subsequent financing; and clients facing distressed situations, secured financing transactions, the perfection of security interests, asset foreclosures, and debt restructurings.
“It is no surprise that COVID-19 has disrupted our client’s businesses, but we have a strong group of trusted advisors who can provide creative solutions for securing funds, mitigating risks and addressing other business interruption needs,” said Ira J. Deitsch, Boston Managing Partner. “There is no doubt that the addition of Tal will bolster our offerings, and we look forward to adding his sound counsel and critical thinking to the assistance that we provide to clients during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.”
In addition to the Corporate & Securities practice, Tal also joins the firm’s newly launched Business Loan Task Force, helps small and medium-sized businesses – including nonprofit organizations – in determining eligibility and securing loans under the programs established by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
“Tal is an integral member of our Business Loan Task Force as we continue to help our clients navigate the provisions of the CARES Act,” said David L. Dubrow, who leads the firm’s Business Loan Task Force. “Tal’s arrival comes amid a time of uncertainty for our clients, but his knowledge and experience brings them the comfort and guidance they require.”
Tal received his JD from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his BA from Tufts University. Before joining Arent Fox, Tal served as Partner in a Boston law firm. He also worked in the legal department of Travelers Insurance where he handled insurance policy drafting and claim disputes on behalf of its Bond and Financial Productions division. Prior to attending law school, he served as the Public Affairs Officer responsible for the higher education community for the Israeli Foreign Ministry at its Boston consulate.
Seventy-five years after Arent Fox was founded by corporate advisors, Arent Fox’s Corporate & Securities team remains a signature practice. Our attorneys know that no transaction is the same. As trusted advisors, we bring solutions to clients operating in complex industries with constantly changing landscapes.
