Arent Fox Earns Mansfield 3.0 Diversity Certification
Arent Fox LLP is proud to announce that it has achieved Mansfield Certification after completing a twelve-month program.
The Mansfield Rule Certification measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, attorneys of color, LGBTQ+ attorneys, and attorneys with disabilities — at least 30 percent of the candidate pool — for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitches to clients.
Named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule is similar to the National Football League’s “Rooney Rule.” The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these roles and opportunities. As the data reveals, firms participating in the Mansfield Rule are making great strides in diversifying their leadership, which will help create the systemic changes necessary to foster long-term inclusion and equity in our workplaces.
Diversity & Inclusion
Arent Fox’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee is led by our Director of Diversity & Inclusion Alison Bygrave and includes leaders from across the firm. The Committee’s goal is to help recruit, retain, and promote diverse attorneys while ensuring that adequate firm resources are dedicated to their training, mentoring, and business development efforts.
