Arent Fox Counsels San Francisco 49ers in Naming Rights and Sponsorship Transaction with Levi Strauss & Co.
Washington, DC — Arent Fox LLP Sports practice leader Richard Brand and Corporate & Securities practice leader Steven Cohen served as outside counsel for the San Francisco 49ers in a naming rights and sponsorship transaction with Levi Strauss & Co.
The transaction makes the iconic jeans company the most prominent stadium sponsor of the Santa Clara Stadium Authority and the 49ers, and designates the name Levi’s Stadium for the team’s new home being built in Santa Clara. The transaction is reported to be the largest naming rights and sponsorship transaction in the history of the West Coast.
Previously, Mr. Brand and Mr. Cohen served as counsel to Brooklyn Events Center and the Brooklyn Nets in connection with the Barclays Center naming rights transaction, which was the largest arena naming rights and team sponsorship deal in the history of sports.
