Arent Fox Advises Vox Media with Acquisition of PUNCH from Penguin Random House
On August 23, Vox Media announced that it acquired PUNCH, the James Beard Award-winning media brand, from Penguin Random House. Arent Fox LLP advised Vox Media in connection with the transaction.
Vox Media’s acquisition of PUNCH adds a notable alcohol beverage media brand to a digital portfolio that already includes the food and dining site Eater and high-profile publications The Verge, SB Nation, Polygon, and New York. The combined lineup of PUNCH and Eater will allow Vox Media to further inform readers about cocktail culture and trends.
Arent Fox attorneys Jay L. Halpern, Jason J. Mazur, Amal U. Dave, Megan (Woodward) Daily, Celeste M. Moy, Dan Jasnow, Jeffrey B. Tate, and Samantha Overly, served as legal counsel to Vox Media, bringing together decades of experience advising on complex mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property transactions, media acquisitions, and beverage and food transactions.
Arent Fox Partner Jay Halpern said, “Vox Media’s acquisition of PUNCH will bring two complementary platforms together, allowing the company to provide increased value to both readers and sponsors.” Partner Amal Dave added, “it’s a perfect pairing.”
