Life Sciences Counsel Stan Abramson will speak on a panel at a Farm Foundation Forum about the challenges and opportunities of implementing a new biotechnology regulation review process on July 23, 2019, at the National Press Club.
In response to a recent executive order aiming to modernize the regulatory framework for agricultural biotechnology products, the Secretary of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are examining regulatory changes that can help streamline the review process for agricultural biotechnology. Stan will sit on a panel with Fan Li Chou, Ph.D., Biology Technician in the Office of Pest Management Policy at USDA, Mike Mendelsohn, Chief of the Emerging Technologies Branch of the Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division in the Office of Pesticide Programs at EPA, and Laura Epstein, Senior Policy Analyst in the Center for Veterinary Medicine at FDA.
Registrants can attend the meeting, listen to a free live audiocast, or find audio from the session on the Farm Foundation website after the presentation.
