ArentFox Schiff partner Darrell Gay will be speaking on the “Protected Concerted Activity and Social and Political Expression at Work” panel at the American Bar Association’s (ABA) 16th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference in Washington, DC on November 11, 2022.

The Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference brings together speakers from private practice and government agencies for robust panels and dialogues. During the Conference, attendees have the opportunity to confer with top practitioners representing employees, employers, unions and government agencies, as well as neutrals, in-house counsel and academics in formal and informal settings.

Protected Concerted Activity has been and continues to be a hot topic in labor law. Join Darrell Gay, who will be speaking alongside Kena Cador of Beeson, Tayer & Bodine, Letitia Silas of the University of California, and Angela Thompson of Communication Workers of America, for a timely discussion on the current state of protected concerted activity, as viewed by the NLRB and its General Counsel (GC Memorandum 21-03: Effectuation of the National Labor Relations Act Through Vigorous Enforcement of the Mutual Aid or Protection and Inherently Concerted Doctrines). The panelist will also discuss recent cases considering these policies and more expansive views of protected concerted activity as a political and social justice advocacy tool and as a bulwark against workplace discrimination.
