Preventing Gun Violence

Arent Fox filed an amicus brief for the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence in the 9th Circuit matter Teixeira v. County of Alameda.

The case is a constitutional challenge to a recently passed Alameda County law limiting the sale of firearms to areas outside of “sensitive locations” including areas near schools and residential areas. The firm’s amicus brief made a strong argument that such regulations are not only constitutional but necessary to reduce the escalating gun violence plaguing California counties such as Alameda.
