Joanne Faycurry Honored with Mentor of the Year Award
Schiff Hardin is pleased to announce that Partner Joanne Faycurry is being recognized with the Mentor of the Year Award by the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program. The award honors Joanne for her dedication and commitment to the organization and the young women the program serves.
Joanne has been involved with Women of Tomorrow since its Metro Detroit chapter started in 2011, and has chaired the Michigan Chapter Advisory Board from 2012-2016.
About her work with the program, Joanne said, “The mentoring that we do with the young woman … has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. The ability to change the future course of a young woman’s life for the better simply by giving an hour of one’s time each month, showing up and giving a damn when very few if anyone else in their lives have, is profound. In terms of social impact – best investment in the future I will ever make.”
Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program seeks to inspire, motivate, and empower at-risk young women through a unique group mentoring program with highly accomplished professional women and scholarship opportunities. Since its inception, Women of Tomorrow has impacted 13,000 at-risk girls.
