Kaitlin has extensive experience handling high-profile government investigations and conducting federal bench and jury trials. Immediately prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, she served as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for a total of more than six years in the United States Attorney’s Offices for the District of Columbia, and the Northern District of Illinois. As a federal prosecutor, she led investigations in several different subject-matter areas, including health care fraud, opioid diversion, tax fraud, cybercrime, and money laundering. Kaitlin has also tried a dozen federal jury and bench trials in three different federal jurisdictions and served as lead counsel in an appeal before the Seventh Circuit. Kaitlin marshals this extensive experience to advise clients facing state and federal enforcement inquiries.
Before becoming an AUSA, Kaitlin was a litigation and white collar criminal defense associate in ArentFox Schiff’s Chicago Office and at another national law firm. In those roles, Kaitlin represented clients in a variety of matters, including investigations by United States Attorney’s Offices, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
