Client Work
International Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
Jodi’s practice focuses on international arbitration and dispute resolution, representing sovereign states and investors before international tribunals such as the World Bank’s International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Current active matters include the representation of a Canadian investor in a tax dispute brought against Mexico under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Export Controls & Economic Sanctions
Jodi assists both US and international companies navigate and comply with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), regulatory compliance, and voluntary disclosures. Her practice includes assisting clients file advisory opinions before the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and responding to subpoenas issued by various government agencies.
As a member of ArentFox Schiff’s Forced Labor Task Force, Jodi also helps companies conduct due diligence on their supply chains and with submissions to Customs for the release of merchandise detained in connection with forced labor Withhold Release Orders. Her Customs practice also includes assisting clients with filing applications for drawback privileges.
Jodi also has experience with the classification of merchandise under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States. She advises clients on trade policy issues, such as the Section 301 tariffs on imports from China. Jodi has assisted with compliance issues with federal and state regulations including the Fish and Wildlife Service’s administration of programs relating to protected species.
Her pro bono practice focuses on assisting vulnerable women and children with immigration matters, such as applying for Special Immigrant Juvenile classification and asylum.

Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Jodi was a law clerk at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office where she assisted in the prosecution of child abuse and sexual assault crimes.
