Professional Responsibility Counsel

Jason counsels firm attorneys on sensitive professional responsibility and liability issues, including the application and interpretation of relevant rules of professional conduct.

Jason Foster

Jason advises on professional practice issues and firm policies, working closely with the firm’s general counsel and director of loss prevention with respect to risk management issues.

He also identifies ethical conflicts, develops appropriate solutions in collaboration with firm attorneys, and facilitates the resolution of issues regarding new client and matter intake, as well as new attorney and staff hiring.

Publications, Presentations & Recognitions

Jason approaches legal ethics from an interdisciplinary perspective, and he has presented extensively on the intersection of behavioral ethics, economic justice, and legal practice. His seminars have addressed critical and emerging issues in various legal environments, and he has also explored the importance of cultural competency and ethical decision-making in diverse settings. As a guest lecturer, he has contributed to the academic discourse on professional responsibilities, while delving into advanced conflict of interest scenarios and the practical implications of behavioral science insights for legal education.

Life Beyond the Law

Jason is deeply embedded in the artistic community, having contributed to various performing arts organizations as choreographer, designer, consultant, technician, and performer. He has served on the executive boards of several arts non-profit entities in the Chicago area, and his passion for the arts has extended into his academic pursuits, having studied film and visual culture at the graduate level. Jason is an avid attendee of concerts, theater, and dance performances, and his love for aesthetics and creative expression enriches his understanding of diverse perspectives and fosters a unique approach to both his professional and personal life.
